Great lifegiver smoldering in the depths of the sky. Profoundly alone, wrapped in your cloak of brilliant plasma as you tunnel through unending blackness. Singing your burning song into the void in your language of light.

Great Sun around whom we whirl on our small turquoise cabochon, we assemble for you. We who drink of your light, we who remember during this long cold hour the endless gift of your offering.

We approach the longest dark. Time of skeletal return and renewal. Join us for Cascadian Yule’s vigintennial celebration: an all-night vigil of solar ballads, umbral darkness, and dawn’s revelation. Come to the warmth of our lodge in Olympia, Washington, at dusk on December 20th. Bring with you the inmost depths of your shadow, to which you pray for light. Bring with you the gift that your childself might raise to the sky. Together we will dream back the sun.

Held annually on deepest Olympian soil, hosting endeavors whose roots reach back through the lineage of ritual performative arts to those ancestors who strove by drum and rattle to something starborne, Cascadian Yule gathers acts of sacral intent from along the west coast spanning the genres of folk, black metal, EDM, soundscape, dance, mythtelling, theater, and beyond— amidst feasting and the jovial reunions of distant tribes of artists, all in honor of the sun who gives all. Rooted in the deep pagan honoring of seasonal cyclicality, Cascadian Yule traces its origins to a time 20 years past when our gathering was a means of physical and spiritual support for warrior kin, imprisoned for their efforts in defending the maimed Earth.
